Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MyTeacher FZ-LLC (“MyTeacher”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal data when you use our website and mobile applications (the “Services”). We aim to comply with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email, phone number, role (parent or tutor) and password.
• Children’s data: a child’s first name, age/grade and curriculum, provided by the parent for the purpose of matching tutors. We do not allow children to create their own accounts.
• Tutor data: qualifications, identity and KHDA verification documents, subjects, availability and pricing.
• Booking & messaging data: lessons, requests, reviews and in-app messages.
• Payment data: processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
• Technical data: device identifiers, app/usage analytics and cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

2. How we use your data

• To provide the Services: matching families with tutors, bookings and payments.
• To verify tutors (identity and KHDA credentials) and keep the platform safe.
• To communicate with you about lessons, support and important updates.
• To improve and secure the Services, and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Children’s privacy

MyTeacher is intended for use by adults. Information about a child is provided and managed by the parent or guardian, who is responsible for the accuracy of that information and for consenting to its processing for tutoring purposes.

4. Sharing your data

We share data only as needed to run the Services, for example with tutors you book, our payment processor (Stripe), and infrastructure providers. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Data retention & security

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law, and we apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@myteacher.ae.
